“Less-Stress” Pet Grooming in Antioch

Grooming your pet is a great way to bond with them while also keeping them clean and healthy. However, it’s not always easy to do on your own; in fact, it might be best to consult with a professional for the best results! At Antioch Veterinary Hospital, we have two talented, Fear Free Certified groomers who can help your pet experience all the cosmetic and hygienic benefits of quality, low-stress grooming.

Let’s talk about your pet’s hygiene—what do they need to stay healthy on the outside?

We Accommodate Cats, Too

Perhaps it isn’t so surprising that dogs go to the groomer far more often than cats do, but one of our groomers is happy to work with your cat if they need a thorough dematting or brushing.

In the event that your cat is unable to groom themselves and is resistant to being groomed by you, let us know and we can help! If necessary, we can offer sedation pet grooming for cats that might be unable to tolerate grooming while awake. Request a consultation with us to see if we can safely sedate and groom your pet.

The Many Benefits of Pet Grooming

Grooming is an essential part of your pet’s care—whether it includes daily brushing and bi-weekly nail trims, or a visit to our groomers for the recommended monthly appointment. The most important benefits of pet grooming include:

  • Preventing uncomfortable matting of the coat, which can also cause skin irritation and damage to the skin barrier
  • Keeping your pet clean
  • Preventing ear infections
  • Decreasing your pet’s likelihood of developing various skin conditions
  • Preventing and eliminating parasites
  • Seasonal hair removal so your pet can better regulate their own body temperature
