What Our Facility Offers

First, dogs and cats have their own separate boarding areas for minimal stress and maximum comfort. Second, the veterinary supervision we can provide is highly beneficial to our guests with ongoing health issues, who may need additional care. This includes pets with diabetes, arthritis, kidney disease, and other chronic conditions.

Also, as Fear Free Certified Professionals, we’re conscious of the fact that some pets may be anxious about boarding, especially if it’s their first time. That’s why we also take steps to make boarding as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

Other features of our cat and dog boarding facility include:

  • An outdoor play yard for dogs (off-leash playtime allowed depending on temperament)
  • A separate cat room with individual enclosures and a large kitty condo where we can let cats out to play, climb, and stretch out (depends on temperament)
  • Pheromone diffusers to help dogs and cats relax
  • Animal-friendly music playing at low volume

Our Health Policy

Be sure to provide proof of vaccinations when you check in. Your pet must be at least 4 months old to board, and they need to be current on all vaccines, including:

Items from Home—to Bring or Not to Bring?

Generally, we advise that you leave bedding, toys and bowls at home. When many pets board with us at once, personal items are more likely to be misplaced or damaged. Furthermore, Antioch Veterinary Hospital is well equipped to provide clean food and water bowls and soft, cozy bedding for our cat and dog boarding guests. If necessary, we can also provide food that will be easy on your pet’s stomach.

If your pet needs their own diet and has medications they take every day, please bring them in containers that are labeled clearly with instructions and your pet’s full name. Medication should be in its original packaging and have instructions for correct dosing.
